BRISTOL, TENN.  – The Converse University swim teams swept King University on Friday night at Virginia High School, as the women's team also came up short against UNC Pembroke in the same meet.
 
The Converse men's swim team defeated King 127-72 as they avenged a December home loss to the Tornado and split the season series. The women's team defeated King 144-52 and lost to UNC Pembroke 124-75.
 
Women's Notes:

• The 200 medley team of Milly Byrne, Ember Hill, Ansley Young, and Alison Ludeman won the opening relay event with a time of 1:51.13.
• In the 1,000 free event, Katie Beebe and Kaitlin Williams finished second and third respectively. Beebe finished with a time of 11:16.21, while Williams finished with a total time of 11:40.86.
• Ludeman finished second in the 200 free event with a time of 1:58.33 and Julia Beebe finished fifth with a total time of 2:02.52.
• Sofiya Gobora finished second in the 50 yard free event with a time of 24.98 seconds, Mayle Iwanski finished fifth with a time of 25.75, and Marie Durflinger finished eighth with a time of 28.16 seconds.
• In the 100 IM event, Milly Byrne finished second with a time of 1:01.62, Katie Mullen finished fourth with a time of 1:05.74, Ember Hill placed fifth with a time of 1:07.71, and Juli Ganim finished eighth with a time of 1:09.62.
• Ansley Young finished third in the 100 butterfly event with a time of 59.97 seconds. Iwanski finished fifth with a time of 1:02.26, and Kaitlin Williams finished 10^th with a time of 1:07.72.
• Ludeman finished second in the 100 free event with a time of 52.80 seconds, Katie Beebe finished sixth with a time of 58.31 seconds, and Marie Durflinger finished eighth with a time of 1:01.88.
• Byrne won the 100 backstroke event with a time of 59.00 seconds and Gobora finished third with a time of 1:00.86.
• Julia Beebe finished third in the 400 IM with a time of 4:48.46, Katie Mullen finished in fifth place with a time of 5:02.29, and Kate Hollingsworth finished seventh with a time of 5:12.38.
• Hill finished second in the 100 breast event with a time of 1:10.56, Katie Hollingsworth finished fourth with a time of 1:13.42 and Ganim finished eighth with a time of 1:16.30.
• The 200 free relay team of Young, Gobora, Katie Beebe, and Julia Beebe finished second with a total time of 1:42.00.  

 
Men's Notes:

• The 200 medley team of Joey Lilley, Tyler Leal, Louis Milczynski, and Keith Rogers won the event with a time of 1:35.89.
• In the men's 1,000 free event, the Valkyries swept the podium as Micah Lesley, Luigi Ballivian and Kir Lyzhin finished in first, second, and third respectively. Lesley won with a total time of 10:17.57, Ballivian posted a time of 10:37.45, and Lyzhin recorded a time of 10:39.23.
• Henry Stockton won the 200 free event with a total time 1:43.86, while Ryan Hunt finished third in the event with a time of 1:50.74. Henry Winstead finished fifth in the event with a total time of 1:57.23.  
• In the 50 free event, Joey Lilley and Keith Rogers finished first and second. Lilley finished with a time of 21.56 seconds and Rogers posted a time of 21.68 seconds. Alexander Kuznetsov finished just off the podium in fourth with a time of 22.22 seconds.
• Milczynski won the 100 IM event with a total time of 53.47 seconds, Daniel Merzthal finished fifth, followed by Davis Dial, Jaxon Tshikof, and Manny Schlichtmann.
• Tyler Leal won the 100 butterfly event with a total time of 52.28 seconds. Kuznetsov finished third with a time of 53.37 seconds, and Hunt finished fourth with a time of 53.43 seconds.
• Stockton won the 100 free event with a time of 46.89 seconds and Merzthal finished third with a time of 48.31 seconds.
• Lilley finished second in the 100 back event with a time of 52.83 seconds, Micah Lesley finished third with a time of 56.81 seconds and Winstead finished fourth with a time of 1:00.70.
• In the 400 IM event, Ballivian finished second with a time of 4:33.07, Davis Dial finished third with a time of 4:35.90, and Lyzhin finished fourth with a time 4:41.02.
• Leal finished second in the 100 breast event with a time of 1:01.38, Tschikof finished fourth with a time of 1:06.12, and Schlichtmann finished with a time of 1:06.52.
• The men's 200 free relay team of Milxzynski, Merzthal, Rogers, and Stockton won the event with a total time of 1:25.98.
