BRISTOL, TENN. – On the second day of the Conference Carolinas Swimming Championships the Valkyries men's swimming team maintained their lead atop the standings, while the women's team sits in fourth place after two days.
In the Women's 500 yard freestyle event
Mayle Iwanski finished 12
th overall with a time of 5:26.10,
Valerie Perez finished 14
th overall with a time of 5:28.91 and
Kaitlin Williams finished 16
th with a time of 5:31.60.
Henry Stockton won the men's 500 yard free event with a time of 4:37.68. This is the second individual championship for Stockton this year.
Micah Lesley finished eighth in the 500 free event with a time of 4:48.91,
Luigi Ballivian finished 11
th with a time of 4:57.45 and
Henry Winstead finished 12
th with a time of 4:59.37.
In the women's 200 year individual medley event,
Ember Hill placed 15
th overall with a time of 2:22.25 and
Liz Klanderman finished 16
th overall with a time of 2:28.03.
In the men's 200 IM event, freshman
Jay Owens finished seventh overall with a time of 1:55.91, Chris Olcott finished 13
th with a time of 2:01.26 and
Gavin Gordy finished 14
th with a time of 2:01.47.
In the women's 50 yard free event, freshman
Kayla Smith finished fifth with a time of 24.10 and
Maya Guevara finished eighth with a time of 24.55 seconds.
Alison Ludeman finished 16
th with a time of 25.21 seconds.
In the men's 50 yard free event,
Louis Milczynski finished second with a time of 20.75 seconds,
Joey Lilley finished fourth with a time of 20.97 seconds and
Keith Rogers finished sixth with a time of 21.10 seconds.
Daniel Merzthal finished 16
th in the event with a time of 21.90 seconds.
In the women's 200 yard free relay event, the Valkyries A team of Smith, Guevara, Ludeman and Iwanski finished third overall with a time of 1:38.02.
In the men's 200 yard free relay event, the Valkyries A team of Milczynski, Lilley, Rogers and Stockton won the event with a time of 1:22.23.
The Converse swim teams will be in action today with the finals in the 400 IM, 100 Butterfly, 200 Free, 100 Breast and 100 back events.
