GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Conference Carolinas office announced their weekly swim awards on Wednesday morning, Converse University freshman swimmer Tyler Leal was named Male Swimmer of the Week for his efforts in the pool this past week.
 
The Valkyries went 1-1 this past weekend with a loss to Lenoir-Rhyne on Friday evening and a 129.0-114.0 win over King on Saturday afternoon. Against the Bears, Leal won the 50 breast event with a time of 27.52 seconds and the 200 breast event with a time of 2:17.07. As a member of the 200 medley relay team, the Valkyries finished second with a time of 1:38.98.  
 
Against King, Leal won the 100 fly event with a time of 52.57 seconds and he finished second in the 50 fly event with a season best time of 23.96 seconds. As a member of the 200 medley relay team, the Valkyries finished second with a time of 1:36.78.  
 
Leal and the rest of the Converse swim team will be back in action this weekend against Columbia College for Senior Day.
