NORTHBOROUGH, MASS. – Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Roll was announced on Wednesday afternoon. Converse University student-athletes Reagan Collins, Nathaly Hansana and Samantha Sparks were all named to the list this year.
 
This is the second time this summer Collins has been honored with an academic award, earlier this summer the Spartanburg native was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. Collins is a senior accounting major with a 3.76 grade point average (GPA). This past season, Collins played in 15 games and made 14 starts for the Valkyries lacrosse team. Collins became just the second player in program history to record 500 career saves and 20 wins.
 
Sparks is being honored for the second time this summer, earlier this year the Empire State native was named to the CSC Academic All-District team. Sparks is a junior interior design major with a 3.55 GPA. Sparks is a First Team All-Conference selection for the Valkyries lacrosse team this season. The junior started all 15 games and led the team in ground balls (33) and caused turnovers (27).
 
Hansana is in the Management and Professional Leadership masters program at Converse. Hansana concluded her Converse career playing in 37 games and making 19 starts for the Valkyries. The Spartanburg native concluded with 12 groundballs and eight caused turnovers.  
 
In order to be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
