BELMONT, N.C. – The Converse University lacrosse team fell 20-1 to Belmont Abbey on Monday afternoon at Alumni field.
Converse concludes the 2026 season with an overall record of 7-10. This is the fourth time since the 2019 season that the Valkyries have finished the year with at least seven wins. Converse has now participated in the Conference Carolinas tournament in three of the past four seasons. Belmont Abbey continues on to the semi-finals and is now 12-5 overall on the year.
Belmont Abbey jumped out to a 6-0 first quarter lead against the Valkyries. The Crusaders did not let up as they held a 12-0 advantage going into the halftime break. After the third quarter, Belmont Abbey added a quartet of goals to their overall lead. With nine minutes to go in the fourth quarter,

Becky Reinhard for the Valkyries lone goal of the contest. Belmont Abbey scored four goals in the final period to finish with 20 goals on the afternoon.
