SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University men's swim team defeated Lenoir-Rhyne 153.5-127.5 on Thursday night inside the Montgomery Student Center.
Louis Milczynski,
Henry Stockton and
Jay Owens led the Valkyries on Thursday evening. Milczynski finished with 603 points and individual wins in the 50 breast event, 100 fly event and the 100 IM event. Milczynski and Owens both helped the 200 IM relay team to a first place finish. Meanwhile, Stockton picked up a win in the 50 free event and a pair of second place finishes in the 200 and 500 free events. Stockton also helped the 400 free relay team to a first place finish. Owens finished first in the 200 IM event, second in the 100 back event and third in the 50 back event.
Joining Milczynski and Owens on the 200 medley relay team was
Tyler Leal and
Joey Lilley. The team finished with a winning time of 1:36.34, while the Converse B team of
Davis Dial,
Gavin Gordy,
Alexander Kuznetsov and
Keith Rogers finished fourth in the event.
In the 1,000 free event,
Mason Reed finished second overall in the race, while
Micah Lesley and
Luigi Ballivian finished fourth and fifth respectfully. In the 200 free event, Stockton finished second overall, while
Daniel Merzthal joined him on the podium with a third place finish. Rogers and
Henry Winstead finished in fourth and fifth place in the event.
In the 100 back event, Owens finished second overall in the event, while
Alexander Nichols finished in third place for the Valkyries. Lilley finished in fifth place and Kir Lyzhin finishes sixth in the 100 back event. In the 100 breast event,
Tyler Leal won the event with a time of 1:00.63 and Chris Olcott finished fourth in the event.
Joining Milczynski on the podium in the 100 fly event was
Mason Reed who finished third in the event with a time of 54.19 seconds.
Alexander Kuznetsov finished fourth overall, while Cole Smith and
Davis Dial finished in fifth and sixth.
In the 50 free event, Stockton won the event with a time of 22.15 seconds and Merzthal finished second in the race with a time of 22.51.
Alexander Nichols finished just off the podium with a fourth place finish in the event.
Joining Milczynski on the podium in the 100 IM event was Gordy who finished third in the event.
Luigi Ballivian finished fifth overall, followed by
Henry Winstead,
Jaxon Tschikof and
Manny Schlichtmann.
In the 100 free event, Lilley finished second overall followed by Merzthal, Lesley and Rogers. In the 50 Fly event,
Tyler Leal finished second overall and Kuznetsov finished fourth overall in the event. Joining Owens on the podium in the 200 IM event was Olcott who finished third overall in the event.
In the final event of the night the Converse A team of Lilley, Merzthal, Reed and Stockton finished in first place in the 400 free relay. The Bears top team was disqualified and allowed the Valkyries B team of Leal, Lesley, Rogers and Ballivian to finish in third place.
