SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University cross country teams are back in action tomorrow morning at Milliken Research Park for the Conference Carolinas Championships.

Women's Notes:

• The Valkyries are back in action for the first time since the Sand Shark Invitational on October 12^th.
• Converse finished second overall with 50 points, finishing ahead of Georgia Southern Southeastern U and USC Aiken.
• Lauren Beatty was named Conference Carolinas Runner of the Week, following her performance at the Sand Shark Invitational. Beatty won the event and set a new school record with a time of 18:08.5.
• Ruth Spijker finished close behind Beatty with a third place performance at the event. The former Conference Carolinas Runner of the Week clocked a time of 18:32.9.
• Angel Kravitz placed 12^th event with a time of 19:14.3 and Paisley Stepp finished 14^th with a time of 19:20.5. Sara Aguiar Torre rounded out the Valkyries Top-20 with a 20^th place finish in the meet.
• Just missing the Top-25 was Peyton MacMillan who finished 27^th overall in the event. Mackenzie Crandell finished right behind in 31^st place, followed by Hailey Jones in 53^rd place.
• Converse enters the meet ranked sixth in the Southeast Region Poll, the Valkyries are the highest ranked Conference Carolinas school in the poll.
• The Valkyries will be looking to defend their Conference Carolinas Championship from a season ago. Converse has finished first or second in the Conference meet the past two seasons.  

 
Men's Notes:  

• The Valkyries are back in action for the first time since the Sand Shark Invitational on October 12^th.
• Converse won the event with a total score of 27, finishing ahead of Winthrop, Southeastern University and Mount Olive.
• Alain Flores and Luis Rios Brena finished in second and third place. Flores finished the event in a time of 25:45.1 and Rios Brena finished with a time of 25:53.3.
• Ander Vera Moleres placed fifth in the event with a time of 26:03.7, and DreQuan Guyton finished close behind in seventh place.
• Zackery Carver rounded out the Valkyries Top-10 with a 10^th place finish with a time of 26:33.6. Marti Ruiz Barreda placed 14^th overall and Alex Porter came in close behind in 17^th place.
• Jaxon Wright posted a 20^th place finish in the race, and Greyson Powell finished right behind in 26^th place. Nathan Lucy, Hunter Heron, Reece Evans, and John Garcia rounded out the Valkyries performance at the event.
• The Valkyries are one of three cross country teams ranked in the Southeast Region Poll this week. Converse is currently ranked 8^th and sitting right behind UNC Pembroke in seventh place.
• Converse will be looking to build off their fifth place finish from a season ago at the Conference Carolinas Championships.
