GREENVILLE, S.C. – Senior Madison Davis has been announced as Converse University's finalist for the 2025-26 Murphy Osborne Award, Conference Carolinas' Outstanding Senior Student-Athlete Award, as announced by the conference office this week.

Davis, a senior from Port Saint Lucie, Florida, will earn her undergraduate degree in communications and media studies from Converse this May. She was a member of the Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll in both 2024 and 2025. Following the 2024-25 academic year, Davis was one of six student-athletes named to the Conference Carolinas All-Community Service Team.

Davis is a three-year starter and two-year team captain for the Converse softball team. She helped lead the 2025 Valkyries to a program-record 19 wins and their first-ever postseason appearance. With eight games remaining in her senior season, she has appeared in 137 games and made 109 starts, driving in 42 career RBIs with a career .258 batting average.

Around Converse, Davis is a student-athlete advisory committee representative and the president of the Future Alumni Council. She completed an internship with the Office of Alumni Relations and another internship via the Nisbet Honors Program. She also served as both a peer mentor for first-year students and an orientation leader.

Off campus, Davis works as a volunteer at Eden Terrace Memory Care Unit, the Carolina Miracle League, Night to Shine Prom, Operation Christmas Child and no less than four local elementary schools.

Student-Athletes are nominated by their institutions based on their academic, athletic and service accomplishments. The Faculty Athletic Representatives (FARs) from all Conference Carolinas institutions submit institutional nominations and votes are cast by the FARs.

To be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must be a December or May graduating senior or a first-year graduate student completing athletic eligibility at the same institution as undergraduate matriculation. The student-athlete must be a full-time student at the time of nomination, must have been a full-time student at the member school for at least two years and must be a starter or important substitute in a conference sport.

The winner of the 2025-26 Murphy Osborne Award, named for longtime educator and college and university administrator Dr. Murphy Osborne, will be officially announced on Thursday, April 16.
