GREENVILLE, S.C. – For the first time in her career, junior Karlie Gibson has been named the Conference Carolinas Player of the Week. She becomes the first Valkyrie in program history to win the award and the second to win a Conference Carolinas weekly award.

Gibson hit .600 last week, playing in three of the Valkyries' four games. She recorded three hits, two of which were home runs, in five at-bats, tallying nine total bases and a team-high five RBIs. Gibson was hit by one pitch and walked once for an on-base percentage of .714.

Gibson launched her most impactful home run of the week in the bottom of the seventh inning against No. 21 Carson-Newman, walking off the Eagles with her first career home run and lifting the Valkyries to their first-ever ranked victory.

Gibson and the Valkyries are back in action today, March 3, as they host Lees-McRae at 2 P.M.
