SALISBURY, N.C. – The Converse University Golf Team finished tied for eighth at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational this past week.
 
As a team the Valkyries shot rounds of 328, 326 and 330 to finish with a three round total of 984. Converse averaged a 3.58 on Par 3 holes, a 4.75 on Par 4 holes, and a 5.49 on Par 5 holes. The Valkyries finished tied for second in the tournament with 17 birdie holes and 112 holes that were parred. Converse also had the second fewest bogeys in the two-day tournament.
 
Ellie Lim had her second straight top-10 finish with rounds of 80, 72, and 79. Lim was the top Conference Carolinas golfer in the field and was the only Converse golfer to finish with two rounds in the 70s. Lim led the Valkyries in Par 3 scoring (3.25), Par 4 scoring (4.36), and finished second on the team in Par 5 scoring (5.33). Lim also led the team in total pars (33) and least amount of bogeys (13).
 
Lilly Bowman and Avery Smith finished second and third on the team with total scores of 252 and 253. Smith tied for the team lead with five birdies over the three round event and Bowman finished second on the team with 22 total pars.
 
Madison Cook finished fourth on the team with a total score of 254 and she led the team in Par 5 scoring with an average of 5.22. Kali Lantis finished fifth on the team with a three round total of 256 and Luci Ugalde competed as an individual and finished with a total score of 279.

The Converse Golf Team will be back in action at the Conference Carolinas Championships on April 12^th – April 14^th. The Conference Carolinas Championships will be held at the Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, S.C. this year.
