SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University Golf Team finished fifth overall at the Conference Carolinas Championships this past week at The Carolina Country Club.
 
The Valkyries improved in every round of the tournament this season. Converse shot an opening round score of 324, a second round score of 323 and a third round score of 322. In total the Valkyries finished with a three round total of 969. As a team the Valkyries averaged a 3.53 on Par 3 holes, a 4.61 on Par 4 scoring and a 5.45 average on Par 5 scoring. Converse recorded 21 birdies over the three day event and 125 total pars.
 
Ellie Lim led the Valkyries shooting rounds of 80, 82 and 80 to finish with a 242. Lim led the team in Par 4 scoring with an average of 4.37, and she led the team in Par 5 scoring with an average of 5.17. Lim finished with four total birdies and shot par on 29 holes.
 
Avery Smith finished second on the team with rounds of 80, 83 and 81 to finish with a three day total of 244. Smith averaged a 3.50 on Par 3's, a 4.57 on Par 4's and a 5.42 on Par 5 holes. Smith led the team with seven birdies and shot par on 23 holes.
 
Kali Lantis finished third on the team with rounds of 84, 80, and 81, finishing with a total score of 245. Lantis shot averaged a 3.50 on Par 3 holes this tournament, a 4.47 average on Par 4 holes, and shot par on 29 holes.
 
Lilly Bowman finished fourth on the team with rounds of 82, 78 and 87 finishing with a total score of 248. Bowman averaged a 3.50 on Par 3's and averaged a 5.42 on Par 5 scores. Bowman finished with a trio of birdies and shot par on 25 holes.
 
Madison Cook finished fifth on the team with rounds of 81, 90 and 80 finishing with a three days score of 251. Cook led the team and finished second overall in the tournament with a 3.08 average on Par 3 holes. Cook made six birdies in the tournament shot par on 19 holes.
