SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Converse University head golf coach
Patti McGowan officially announced the signing of Paula Kay Sanders (Columbia, S.C.) on Thursday.
"Paula brings a strong combination of athletic achievement, academic success, and leadership to our program," McGowan said. "As a two-time Player of the Year and Student Council Officer, she has consistently excelled in everything she does, and we're excited to see her continue that success at Converse."
Sanders is a four-year letter winner and team captain for the Ridge View High School Golf Team. Sanders is a two-time Player of the Year award winner for the Blazers. Last season, Sanders competed in eight events as a member of the South Carolina Junior Golf Association. Sanders finished inside the Top-10 in seven of the eight events, her highest finish was a third place finish at the Cobblestone Park tournament.
Outside of golf, Sanders was an AP Scholar, Student Body Officer for Student Council, and was a member of Scholars Academy for business and law magnet.
