SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University Golf Team had a great outing at their home tournament on Monday and Tuesday, the Valkyries finished third overall as a team and had two players finish inside the Top-10.
 
As a team the Valkyries shot 326 on Monday afternoon and they followed it up with a 321 on Tuesday. The Valkyries two day score of 647 placed Converse third overall, finishing ahead of North Greenville A and B teams, UNC Pembroke, Barton and Indiana – Kokomo. The Converse B team recorded round of 361 and 371 to finish with a two day score of 732. The B team finished eighth overall in the event. Emmanuel won the tournament with scores of 314 and 319, while Southern Wesleyan came in second place with scores of 326 and 312.
 
The Converse A team averaged a 3.50 score on Par 3 holes, a 4.72 on Par 4 holes and a 5.68 on Par 5 holes. The Converse B team averaged 3.88 on Par 3 holes, 5.14 on Par 4 holes and 6.16 on Par 5 holes. The Converse A team finished with par on 74 holes and birdie on 12 holes, the A team was also the only team to record an eagle in the two day tournament.
 
Ellie Lim led the Valkyries with a runner-up finish in the two day tournament. The junior shot a 76 on Day one and followed it up with a 74 on Day two. Lim led the team in both Par 4 and Par 5 scoring with an averages of 4.15 and 4.88. The Ohio native also finished with a team high 21 pars and five birdies over the two day event.
 
Kali Lantis finished second on the team and finished tied for eighth in the two day event. Lantis shot rounds of 79 and 81 to finish with at wo day total of 160. The junior finished second on the team in Par 3 scoring with an average of 3.25. The South Dakota native also finished second on the team in Par 4 scoring with an average of 4.55. Lantis finished second on the team in total pars with 18 and she finished third on the team with a pair of birdies.
 
Avery Smith finished third on the team with scores of 84 and 80, totaling a two day score of 164. The freshman was the only player in the field to card an eagle or better when she recorded a three on the Par 5 13^th hole. Smith finished second on the team in Par 5 scoring with an average of 5.25, the freshman made 15 pars and one birdie over the two day event.
 
Madison Cook finished first on the B team and 27^th overall in the tournament with a score of 172. Lilly Bowman finished fourth on the A team and 31^st overall with a tournament score of 173. Luci Ugalde and Ally Osting both finished second on the B team and 39^th overall with scores of 186. Ashley Azzaro and Katie Culp rounded out the Valkyries teams this week with 41^st and 44^th place finishes in the event.

The Converse Golf Team will be back in at The Patsy Rendleman Invitational on March 23^rd and 24^th. The two day tournament will take place at The Country Club of Salisbury, N.C.
