GREER, S.C. – The Converse University golf team finished second overall at the Upstate Fall Intercollegiate this past week at the Greer Golf & Country Club.
 
The Valkyries A team recorded an opening round score of 316 and a second round score of 310 to finish with a 626. Converse finished right in between the Erskine A team (603) and Erskine B team (627). The Valkyries also finished ahead of fellow Conference Carolinas foes North Greenville, Barton, Shorter and King. The Converse B team shot a 350 in the opening round and a 363 in the second round to finish with a two-day score of 713.
 
The Converse A team finished with a Par 3 scoring average of 3.38, they finished second in Par 4 scoring average with a 4.52 and they finished with a Par 5 scoring average of 5.25. The Converse A team finished second in the tournament with 93 total pars, they finished third in the tournament with 16 birdies and they finished second with one eagle.
 
Ellie Lim (Delaware, Ohio) finished second overall in the tournament and first on the Converse A team. The junior shot an opening round 76 before finishing with a 73 on the second day of the competition. Lim finished three strokes behind Lina Lindqvist of Erskine. Lim led the tournament in par 4 scoring average of 4.10 and she led in total pars with 25 for the two day event. Lim highlighted her tournament with an eagle on the 15^th hole of the second round.
 
Lilly Bowman (Hickory, N.C.) finished second on the Converse A team and 13^th overall in the tournament with a total score of 156. Bowman recorded an opening round score of 79 and a second round score of 77 in the event. Bowman finished second on the team in Par 4 scoring with an average of 4.40 and led the team and the tournament with seven birdies.
 
Avery Smith (Summerville, S.C.) finished third on the Converse A team and 24^th overall in the tournament. Smith registered rounds of 79 and 82 to finish with a two day score of 161. Smith finished second on the team in Par 3 scoring with an average of 3.25 and she led the team in Par 5 scoring with an average of 4.88. Smith finished second on the team with five birdie holes in the event.
 
Ashley Azzaro finished first on the Converse B team and 26^th overall with scores of 75 and 87. Azzaro led the B team in Par 3 scoring with an average of 3.38 and Par 4 scoring average 4.80. The freshman also led the team B team with 19 par putts and a pair of birdie putts in the tournament.
 
Kali Lantis (Spearfish, S.D.) finished fourth on the Converse A team and 30^th overall in the two day tournament. Lantis recorded rounds of 86 and 78 to finish with a two round total of 164. Finished third on the A team in Par 4 scoring with an average of 4.60 and finished second on the team in total par holes with 20.
 
Madison Cook (McLeansville, N.C.) finished fifth on the Converse A team and 36^th overall in the event. Cook registered rounds of 82 and 85 to finish with a two round total of 167.  Luci Ugalde (Merida, Yucatan, Mexico) finished second on the Converse B team and 48^th overall in the tournament. Ugalde carded rounds of 85 and 89. Katie Culp (Greenville, S.C.) finished third on the Converse B team with rounds of 89 and 90. Ally Osting (Lithia, Fla.) finished fourth on the Converse B team with rounds of 101 and 97.
