BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Converse University golf team finished third overall at the King University Invitational this season.
In the opening of the tournament the Valkyries shot a 310 and were in fourth place following the first day of action. On the second day the Valkyries shot a 312 and moved up a spot in the standings to finish just ahead of Belmont Abbey, North Greenville and King. Converse tallied 13 birdies in the two day event.
Ellie Lim (Delaware, Ohio) finished sixth overall in the two day event with rounds of 76 and 75. Lim had the second best outing amongst Conference Carolinas golfers in the tournament. The junior tallied four birdies over the two-day event and also record 20 pars in the tournament.
Avery Smith (Summerville, S.C.) in her second collegiate tournament shot rounds of 76 and 79 to finish with a 155. The freshman tallied 22 pars in the tournament and a pair of birdies.
Kali Lantis (Spearfish, S.D.) shot rounds of 78 and 81 with a total score of 159 over the two day tournament. Lantis tallied 22 pars and one birdie in the tournament.
Lilly Bowman (Hickory, N.C.) finished 24
th overall with scores of 80 and 81. The freshman tallied 21 par holes and a pair of birdies in the tournament.
Madison Cook (McLeansville, N.C.) posted rounds of 85 and 77 in the event. The sophomore tallied 17 pars and four birdies.
