SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Following one of the Converse University athletics core values of service, sophomore
Madison Davis of the Converse University softball team was named to the 2024-25 Conference Carolinas All-Community Service Team. She is joined on the team by five other Conference-Carolinas student-athletes representing five different member institutions.
To be eligible for the award, the student must be a junior or senior in academic status and own a grade-point average of 2.7 or higher. In addition, the student must have completed at least two full-time semesters at the institution. Athletically a sophomore, Davis was academically a junior during the 2024-25 academic year.
A respected member of the Converse University community, Davis' impact on campus and the broader Spartanburg community were felt constantly. The Valkyries softball team made frequent appearances at the Spartanburg Miracle League. On the diamond, Davis helped lead the Converse softball team to their best season in program history and the team's first-ever postseason appearance.
One of the key strategies for Conference Carolinas is helping to provide its member institutions opportunities for student-athletes to be more involved and engaged within the community. The Community Service Team features student-athletes from our member institutions who embody all of these qualities.
The other members of the team are Grace Gilmore of Belmont Abbey women's soccer, Kanishka Lunkad of Erskine men's golf, Rebecca Ryan of Lees-McRae volleyball, Samantha Thomson of Young Harris women's soccer and Jenna Walling of Francis Marion softball.
