Softball Heads to Due West and Young Harris To Battle Southwest Division Foes

  • The Valkyries enter the weekend after dropping both games of a doubleheader to North Greenville on Tuesday.
  • Senior Sydney Watson leads the Valkyries offensively with a .414 batting average and a .640 slugging percentage. She has driven in 35 runs this season, 12 more than the team's second-highest total.
  • Fellow senior Riley Lingerfelt leads the Valkyries in the circle with a 3.78 ERA and eight wins, double the team's second-highest win total. She has recorded 134 strikeouts, for which she ranks 14th nationally.

  •  Erskine enters the weekend after splitting with Young Harris in their doubleheader on Tuesday, April 1. The Flying Fleet won game one 4-3 but dropped game two 8-7.
  • Junior Gabby Burroughs leads Erksine offensively with a .464 batting average. She has a team-high 10 home runs and a .857 slugging percentage.
  • Sophomore Mallory Ruzicka leads the Flying Fleet in the circle with a 5.09 ERA. Freshman Kinsley Kay leads the team in wins with two.
  • Erskine is 2-10 against common opponents with Converse. 

Young Harris Notes:
  • The Mountain Lions enter the weekend after splitting with Erskine on April 1. They take on Shorter on Friday, April 4.
  • Junior Shelby Duncan leads Young Harris offensively with a .420 batting average. Junior Gracie Hughes leads the team in home runs and slugging percentage and RBIs with eight, .716 and 41, respectively.
  • The pitching tandem of freshman Isabella Pecorilli and senior Grace Young lead the team with 60.2 innings pitched each. They combine for nine wins this season.
  • Young Harris is ranked 11th in the Conference Carolinas KPI standings.
