GREENVILLE, S.C.  – With a 21.04 in the 200 meter dash, senior Gavin McFadden has earned Conference Carolinas track athlete of the week.

McFadden set a school record in the event at the 2025 Weems Baskin Invitational on Saturday, March 22. He placed second at the meet behind a runner from the host University of South Carolina Gamecocks. His time puts him first in both the southeast region and Conference Carolinas.

The Rock Hill native ranks fourth nationally in Division II in the 200 meters. He is the second consecutive Valkyrie honored with the award, joining teammate Alain Flores.

McFadden and the rest of the Valkyries are back in action on Saturday, March 29, as they head to Central for the Gotta Run Invitational hosted by Southern Wesleyan University.
