Converse Notes:
  • The Valkyries enter the midweek matchup after going 1-5 over their first half-dozen games of the season.
  • Senior pitcher Riley Lingerfelt received the team's only win in the circle this weekend in the Valkyries' 6-0 victory over Limestone on Saturday. She pitched 25.1 innings in four appearances with a 1.93 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP (walks and hits per inning pitched). Lingerfelt leads all Conference Carolinas pitchers in innings pitched and strikeouts (41) through the first weekend of competition.
  • Twenty-twenty-four Conference Carolinas second team all-conference selection Sydney Watson leads the Valkyries in batting average (.350) and is second in slugging percentage (.450) among qualified batters.
  • Freshman outfielder Charley Swartzel has made an immediate impact on the Valkyries' lineup. She leads the team in slugging percentage (.526) and is now tied for second in program history in single-season triples (2).
 
Clark Atlanta Notes:
  • Clark Atlanta begins their softball 2025 season against the Valkyries. They posted a 17-31 record last season. 
  • Head coach Nicole Bayona was appointed head coach in July 2024.
  • Senior Johannas Bentley returns as the team's top hitter, posting a team-high .376 batting average last year.
  • Clark Atlanta lost their 2024 ace, Coreya Quarterman, who pitched 173.2 of the team's 294 innings.
