Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 YOUNG HARRIS, Ga.  – Both Converse University tennis teams (both 1-4) kicked off conference play with a 5-2 road loss to the Young Harris Mountain Lions (both 3-4) Thursday afternoon at the Bob and Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex on the campus of Young Harris College.

Women's Notes:

Junior Khushi Kharb secured a 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles in straight sets. Fellow junior Sofia Giraldo-Jimenez also won in consecutive sets, first winning 6-4, then securing the match with a 6-1 second-set victory.

Men's Notes:

Junior Stanley Waters and sophomore Takuma Furumaki won the Valkyries' only court in doubles play with a 6-3 victory at No. 2 doubles.

Junior Marty Letessier captured the Valkyries' highest win, taking a 6-4, 7-6 victory at No. 3 singles. Waters also won his singles match, winning 6-2, 7-6.

Next Up For Converse:
The Valkyries head to the Tar Heel State to take on the Montreat College Cavaliers in Montreat, North Carolina on Sunday, March 2. The match is set to begin at 2 P.M.
