Box Score SPARTANBURG, S.C.  – New year, new coach, new Valkyries on the court for the Converse University women's tennis team (1-0) as they rolled to a 5-2 victory over Limestone (0-1) Friday afternoon at the Sally Abney Rose Complex.

Junior Khushi Kharb and freshman Tamanna Panwar took the top doubles court 6-1. Junior Laurel Maynor and freshman Romy Rueff won by the same score at No. 3 doubles, giving the Valkyries the first doubles point of the season.

Kharb took a two-set 7-5, 6-4 victory at No. 1, continuing her winning ways from last season. Junior Sofia Giraldo-Jimenez followed with a two-set victory of her own at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-1.

Panwar secured her first collegiate singles victory with her own two-set victory at No. 4 singles: 6-2, 6-3. Rueff rounded out the match for the Valkyries with a 6-2 victory in straight sets.
