Women’s Tennis Prepares For Final Road Trip of Season

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University women's tennis team (6-10, 1-4 Conference Carolinas) heads to the Tar Heel state this weekend for matches with the Barton Bulldogs and Chowan Hawks. The Bulldogs play host to the Valkyries on Friday, April 12, while the Hawks invite Converse to Murfreesboro on Saturday, April 13.

When Barton and Chowan squared off head-to-head earlier this season, Barton took a 7-0 sweep over the Hawks.

  • Entering the weekend, graduate student Tonya Glogowski-Watson leads the Valkyries in singles wins with nine. Five of those wins have come at No. 1 singles while the other four came at No. 2 singles.
  • Sophomore Khushi Kharb and senior Natalie White lead the team in doubles wins with 11. All 11 of their wins have come as a pair.

  • Barton also dominates in doubles play, posting a 29-12 overall record. Like singles play, they have a winning record on every court. No. 1 doubles is their best doubles court by winning percentage with a 12-2 record.
  • Junior Tilde Howeler has the most singles wins on the team with 10. She has competed at No. 1 singles in all 14 of the team's matches.
