Softball Opens Homestand with Doubleheaders against Bobcats and Panthers

Converse Notes:

Converse enters Thursday after splitting their Sunday doubleheader with Coker. They won the first game 11-3 but dropped game two 4-3 on a walkoff single from the Cobras.
Junior Riley Lingerfelt struckout 30 batters between her two appearances last week. Her 18 strikeouts against Allen is the second-most in a single game by a Division II pitcher this season. She is tied for second nationally in strikeouts with 97 this season.
Senior Kayla Rocha boasts the Valkyries' highest on-base percentage at 0.536 percent. She has been hit by a pitch seven times this season, tied for the 11th most times nationally.
Sophomore Ayellad Howard leads Conference Carolinas with four triples. Junior Sydney Watson leads Converse in home runs with four.

Georgia College Notes:

The Bobcats enter the midweek doubleheader after being swept in their second Peach Belt series of the season by the Columbus State Cougars on Saturday and Sunday. Prior to that, they split a doubleheader with Anderson.
Junior Kam Caldwell leads the team offensively among qualified batters. Starting in all 21 of the team's games, she has a 0.444 batting average and a 0.494 on-base percentage.
Junior right-handed pitcher leads the team in ERA with a 3.24 mark this season. She has started eight games in the circle and made nine appearances, accumulating a 4-3 record.
Georgia College sits in the middle of the Peach Belt in fielding percentage at 0.960, just 0.001 points behind USC Aiken in fourth place.

Claflin Notes:

The Panthers enter Sunday's contests having not played since Feb. 25. They dropped both games to USC Aiken that day. Both lasted only five innings as the Pacers run-ruled the Panthers.
Freshman Jeniah Williams leads Claflin in batting average amongst qualified batters with a 0.432 mark. She also leads the team in doubles (3), total bases (24) and on-base percentage (0.457). She was named CIAA Rookie of the Week on Feb. 27.
Among qualified pitchers, senior Jaelyn Jackson has the best ERA on the team with a 5.86 mark. She has started six games and made seven appearances. The Denver native has a 3-4 record this season.
Claflin sits in the middle of the CIAA in terms of fielding percentage at fifth place. They have a 0.927 fielding percentage through 15 games.
