Valkyries Conquer Patriots 

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University acrobatics and tumbling team won overall in all events before winning 245.175-183.460 to Francis Marion on Friday inside Smith University Center.

Event 1 – Compulsory

Converse started the meet posting scores of 8.65, 9.55, 9.20, and 8.05 in the compulsory Acro, pyramid, toss, and tumbling heats. The Valkyries go into the next event up 35.45-26.70 to the Patriots. 

Event 2 – Acro

Converse scored 8.65, 7.30, and 7.05 finishing with an event total of 23 securing the event win over Francis Marion 23-18.35. The Valkyries head into the third event 58.45-45.05 to the Patriots.

Event 3 – Pyramid

The Valkyries scored the highest in heats one and three with a 9.50 in both. In heat two the Valkyries scored 9.  With these scores, the Valkyries go into the toss event up 86.45-70.5.

Event 4 – Toss

The Valkyries scored 8.50, 7.60, and 8.45 ending the event 24.55-19.60. The Valkyries head into the tumbling 111-90.1.

Event 5 – Tumbling

The Valkyries scored 8.35, 7.4, 7.7, and 9.175 in the duo, trio, and quad pass respectively. Ayanna Manning's aerial pass, Ceanna Brown's 6 Element pass, and Krissa Gaines' Open pass had scores of 9.175, 8.9, and 9.1 respectively, helping Converse to end the event with a total score of 50.625 compared to Francis Marion's 39.75 The Valkyries head into the team event 161.625-129.85.

Event 6 – Team

With a start value of 81.21 Francis Marion scored 53.61 to end the meet with an overall score of 183.46. Converse started their team event with a 102.05 start value the Valkyries scored a total of 83.55 points to end the meet with an overall score of 245.175.

The Valkyries head to the first round of Conference Carolinas on April 6th at King University.
