Acrobatics & Tumbling Resets Season High Against Nationally Ranked St. Leo

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – In their first home meet of the 2026 acrobatics and tumbling season, the Converse Valkyries fell 262.900 – 233.890 to #11 St. Leo on Saturday afternoon inside the Weisiger Center.

With the loss Converse drops to 2-5 overall on the season, while St. Leo improves to 6-1 in their final competition of the regular season. The Lions score of 262.900 was also a season best in competition this year.

In the Compulsory event, the Valkyries scored an 8.60 in the acro heat, a 9.50 in the pyramid heat, a 9.75 in the toss heat and a 5.90 in the tumbling heat. Converse finished with a total event scored of 33.75 and St. Leo finished with a total score of 37.55.

In the 5 element acro heat, Converse scored an 8.85, in the 6 element heat the Valkyries scored an 8.55 and in the 7 element heat they scored an 8.85. In total the Valkyries tallied a score of 26.25, while St. Leo accumulated a score of 29.00.

In the Pyramid event, Converse scored an 9.30 in the inversion heat, a 9.65 in the synchronized heat and a 9.40 in the open pyramid heat. In total the Valkyries finished with an event score of 28.35 and St. Leo finished with a 29.75. The Lions also recorded a perfect 10.00 in the open pyramid heat.

In the toss event, Converse scored an 8.65 in the 450 Salto toss, an 8.50 in the Synchronized toss and a 9.05 in the open toss heat. The Valkyries finished with a total event score of 26.20 and St. Leo finished with a 27.20.

In the tumbling event, the Valkyries finished with a 7.500 in the duo pass, a 7.000 in the trio pass, a 3.750 in the quad pass, a 9.025 in the aerial pass, a 6.950 in the 6 element pass and a 7.925 in the open pass. Converse finished with a total event scored of 42.150 and St. Leo finished with a score of 55.500.

In the team event Converse recorded a score of 77.19 and St. Leo finished with a score of 83.90. In total the Valkyries finished with 27.60 points in deductions, while St. Leo finished with 22.79 points in deductions.    

The Valkyries will be at home on Monday, March 30th against Belmont Abbey. The senior night match will start at 6:00 p.m. inside the Weisiger Center.
