GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Converse University Acrobatics and Tumbling team fell 257.750 – 233.390 on Thursday evening.

With the loss Converse drops to 2-4 overall and Lander improves to 5-2 on the season. The Valkyries 233.390 points on Thursday night was the most in a meet this season.  

In the Compulsory event, the Valkyries recorded scores of 8.85, 9.75, 9.25 and 5.55 in the four heats. In total the Valkyries finished with 33.40 points in the opening event and Lander finished with 37.60 points.

In the Acro event, the Valkyries recorded a score of 8.75 in the 5 element heat, 8.05 in the 6 element heat and 8.00 in the 7 element heat. Converse finished with 24.80 points in the Acro event, while Lander won the event with a total score of 28.50.

In the Pyramid event, the Valkyries recorded a score of 8.60 in the inversion pyramid, a 9.50 in the synchronized pyramid and a 9.35 in open pyramid. In total the Valkyries finished with 27.45 in the pyramid event, and Lander finished with a total score of 29.25.

In the toss event, the Valkyries recorded a score of 8.25 in the 450 Salto heat, a 8.25 in the synchronized toss heat and a 8.45 in the open toss heat. Converse finished with a total score of 24.95 and Lander finished with a total score of 27.25.

In the tumbling event, the Valkyries recorded a 7.500 in the duo pass heat, a 6.500 in the trio pass and a 5.100 in the quad pass. In the aerial pass the Valkyries had one of their best scores of the night with a 8.600. The 6 element pass received a score of 6.900 and the open pass recorded a score of 7.750 . Converse finished with a total score of 42.350 and Lander finished with a total score of 49.650.

In the team event the Valkyries finished with 80.44 points and Lander finished with 85.50 points. In total the Valkyries finished the meet with 28.10 deduction points and Lander had 25.95 total points deducted from their score.   

The Valkyries will be at home this Saturday against St. Leo. The meet is set to start at 1:00 p.m., inside the Weisiger Center.
