Women’s Tennis Awaits Home Matchup with Nationally-Ranked Flying Fleet

The Valkyries enter Thursday's matchup after most recently dropping their second Conference Carolinas match of the season to Belmont Abbey.
Converse has a .500 record or better on three of six singles courts: No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5 singles.
Splitting time evenly between No. 1 and No. 2 singles, graduate student Tonya Glogowski-Watson has a 7-5 singles record with a 4-2 mark at No. 2 singles.
Sophomore Lais Martins is tied for the most singles wins of any Valkyrie with Glogowski-Watson. Martins has played the majority of her matches at No. 5 singles.
Converse's best doubles court is No. 2 doubles where the Valkyries are an impressive 9-2. Eight of those wins came from the duo of sophomore Khushi Kharb and senior Natalie White who are undefeated at the position.

Erskine Notes:

Erskine enters the match with a 10-2 record riding an eight-match win streak. The Flying Fleet, who were selected to finish first in Conference Carolinas by the preseason coaches poll, fell to Newberry on Feb. 1 and North Georgia on Feb. 15. Those teams are currently ranked No. 23 and No. 6, respectively.
Despite being the only Conference Carolinas team ranked in the latest poll by the ITA, Erskine does not have any singles or doubles pairs ranked in those national rankings.
Senior Emma Bentz has competed at No. 1 singles in all 12 of the Fleet's dual matches. She has a 9-3 singles record. She also has competed at No. 1 doubles in all 12 of the team's matches and has posted an 8-4 doubles record. She has played all 12 doubles matches with fellow senior Luize Valtere.
The Flying Fleet have a winning record on five of six singles courts and all three doubles courts. Erskine has an 8-4 record at all three doubles positions.
