Valkyries falter to Tornado

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University acrobatics and tumbling team won toss, tumbling, and the team event before falling to the King Tornado.Â

Event 1 – Compulsory
Converse started the meet posting scores of 8.6, 9.7, 9.45, and 8.45 in the compulsory Acro, pyramid, toss, and tumbling heats. The Valkyries go into the next event 36.2-36.4 to the Tornado
Event 2 – Acro
Converse scored 7.95, 7.8, and 8.6 finishing with an event total of 24.35. The Valkyries head into the third event 60.55-63.6 to the Tornado.
Event 3 – Pyramid
The Valkyries scored the highest in heat one with a 9.75 compared to the Tornado 9.55. In heats two and three the Valkyries scored 9.2 and 9.5. With these theses scores the Valkryies go into the toss event down 89-92.60.
Event 4 – Toss
The Valkyries scored 8.75, 7.6, and 8.5 winning the event 24.85-24.2. The Valkyries head into the tumbling 113.85-116.8.
Event 5 – Tumbling
The Valkyries shined in the tumbling event, outscoring the Tornado 49.65-49.1. Ayanna Manning's aerial pass, Ceanna Brown's 6 Element pass, and Krissa Gaines' Open pass had scores of 9.475,9, and 9.225 respectively, to help Converse to a 49.65-49.1 event win.

Event 6 – Team
With a start value of 99.10Â King scored 81.26 to end the meet with an overall score of 247.160. Converse started their team event with a 102.12 start value, the Valkyries scored a total of 81.66 points to end the meet with an overall score of 245.160.

The Valkyries have their final home meet of the season on March 22nd at 7 p.m. against Limestone.
