Women’s Tennis Prepares of Saturday Road Matchup With Tigers

Converse enters the match most recently having fallen to Limestone 5-2.
Senior Alexandra Romero won her first dual-match victory of the season via a 6-4 victory at No. 3 doubles with sophomore Lais Martins.
Sophomore Laurel Maynor also won her first dual-match victory of the season with a 6-3 victory in consecutive sets at No. 6 singles. She was the sole Valkyrie to take her singles match against the Saints.
The Valkyries have a winning record at No. 2 singles this season with three Valkyries each playing at least one match at the position: graduate student Tonya Glogowski-Watson, sophomore Sofia Giraldo-Jimenez and sophomore Khushi Kharb. Glogowski Watson has a 3-1 record at No. 2 singles this season while the sophomores have each won their only appearance at the position.

The Tigers last competed on Saturday, Feb. 17 against Clark Atlanta. They fell 5-2.
Sophomore Valerie Essome has competed at all 11 matches at No. 1 singles and has posted an undefeated 9-0 record.
With only five players on the roster, the Tigers have conceded every match at No. 3 doubles. They have a winning record at the other two doubles positions.
Four of the five Tigers on the roster have .500 singles winning percentage or better.
