GREENVILLE, S.C.  – With two complete-game wins, 30 strikeouts, and the Valkyries' first perfect game in program history all coming within the last week, junior Riley Lingerfelt earned Conference Carolinas Pitcher of the Week honors.

In her 13.0 innings pitched, she held opponents to a .136 batting average.

Lingerfelt set the tone for the week early as she fanned 11 batters in a complete-game victory over St. Andrews, setting a new school record for strikeouts in a game. The Valkyries won the game 18-0, tying the program record for single-game scoring.

The Welcome, North Carolina native kicked off Friday's doubleheader by breaking her own two-day old record with 13 strikeouts on her way to recording the first perfect game and no-hitter in program history. She appeared in the second game of the evening against Lincoln (Pa.) and recorded a three-inning save.

Lingerfelt struck out 30 of the 47 batters she faced in her three appearances, a strikeout percentage of 63.8%. She has recorded 61 strikeouts this season and is currently fifth in the national in strikeouts.

The Valkyries return to the diamond on Thursday, Feb. 22 as they head to Greeneville, Tennessee to take on the Tusculum Pioneers.
