Women’s Tennis Heads To Sumter For Matchups With Coker and USC Sumter

The Teams:
Converse (4-8) vs USC Sumter (0-3) and Coker (2-1)
Series: Converse leads USC Sumter 4-0, Coker leads Converse 4-1
Last Meeting: Converse defeated USC Sumter 4-1, Coker defeated Converse 6-1

Converse Notes:

Converse last competed in a matchup against a Division II opponent on Feb. 7 as they defeated Mars Hill 4-3.
Sophomore Khushi Kharb and senior Natalie White kicked off the match against the Lions with a 6-0 sweep at No. 2 doubles. Graduate student Tonya Glogowski-Watson and sophomore Sofia Giraldo-Jimenez followed that up at No. 1 doubles with a speedy 6-2 victory.
Kharb, Giraldo-Jimenez and sophomore Lais Martins won their singles matches at No. 2, 4 and 5 securing the Converse victory.

Coker Notes:

Coker is 2-1 this season with all three matches coming in the spring. After opening the season with wins against Lander, 6-1, and Augusta, 5-2, the Cobras fell to Francis Marion with a match score of 5-2.
The Cobras have swept the doubles point in both of their wins. They also won No. 3 doubles against Francis Marion.
Against Francis Marion, Coker pushed five of the six singles matches to three sets. The Cobras won the lone match, No. 4 singles, that was decided in two sets.

USC Sumter Notes:

The Fire Ants are 0-3 this season and have competed exclusively against Division II competition thus far.
USC Sumter has lost all three matches by a final score of 7-0.
