The Series
These will be the 7th and 8th games between Converse and Columbia College. The Koalas hold a 5-1 series lead over the Valkyries, sweeping the 2022 series 16-6 and 12-3.
 
Converse Notes:
  • Converse is 8-10 overall after picking up their record-breaking 8th win on Wednesday, March 1.
  • In their game two 11-8 win over Claflin, Ayellad Howard, Makenna Hill and Abby Bardonaro each had two runs with Hill and Bardonaro each having two hits. Bardonaro led the team in RBIs with two while four Valkyries had two stolen bases. Serrah Ballard pitched four innings with four strikeouts while Rylee Summers pitched a total of three innings.
  • Karleigh Crabill leads Converse overall with 33 at bats, eight runs, 12 hits, one double, one triple, one home run and four RBIs with a .364 batting average, .545 slugging percentage and a .432 on base percentage. Howard follows with 42 at bats, 11 runs, 14 hits and six RBIs with a .333 batting average, .333 slugging percentage and a .417 on base percentage.
  • Summers leads in the circle, pitching 29.1 innings with six strikeouts and a 4.30 ERA. Ballard follows with 22.2 innings pitched and 21 strikeouts.
  • Howard leads in runs scored (11), hits (14) and stolen bases (11).
Columbia College Notes:
  • Columbia College is 6-8 overall and 0-6 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play after dropping a doubleheader series to Point on Saturday afternoon.
  • In the game one 10-8 loss, Madison Wadford led the team with four at bats, one run, three hits and two RBIs. In the circle, Meghan Dennis pitched 1.2 innings and Bailey Strickland pitched 4.1 innings with one strikeout.
  • Kyra McCarson led the Koalas in the game two 10-1 loss with two at bats, one hit and one RBI. Jenna Heath picked up the loss in the circle after pitching 4.2 innings with one strikeout.
  • Kylie Smith leads Columbia College overall with 23 at bats, five runs, 11 hits, one double, one triple and eight RBIs with a .478 batting average, .556 on base percentage and a .609 slugging percentage. Mary-Catherine Sanders follows with 32 at bats, nine runs, 15 hits, one double and two RBIs with a .469 batting average, .500 on base percentage and a .500 slugging percentage.
  • Dennis is the top choice for the Koalas in the circle, pitching a total of 36 innings with 20 strikeouts. Heath is next with 34.2 inning pitched and 19 strikeouts.
