CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Converse University track and field programs had an outstanding first outdoor meet of the season which saw a podium finish and several personal bests and school records broken.
 
Converse Notables:

• Krishayla Boyd finished 19^th in the 200-meter dash at 25.69 seconds.
• The women's 4x800-meter team made up of Lauren Beatty, Ruth Spijker, Kamille Dixon and Bayley Robinson placed 5^th overall with a time of 9:40.81, crushing the previous school record.
• On the men's side of the 4x800-meter relay, the "A" team placed 7^th at 8:23.00, a new school record, while the "B" team finished 9^th at 8:43.60.
• At a time of 4:02.66, the women's 4x400-meter relay team placed 7^th.
• Mackenzie Whiteside, Nashayla Warren and Janiya Pinckney all finished inside the top 20 in the triple jump. Whiteside placed 15^th (10.73 meters), Warren placed 17^th (10.55 meters) and Pinckney finished 20^th (10.10 meters).
• Jordan Brown hit the podium in the high jump, placing third overall at a mark of 1.65 meters. Phoebe Myers finished right behind Brown in 4^th place with a mark of 1.60 meters.
• Myers finished 10^th overall in the women's 100-meter hurdles, finishing at a time of 14.75 seconds.
• Donald Medley broke the school record in the men's 100-meter hurdles at a time of 16.24 seconds.
• Shanyia Gray had a personal best time of 59.19 seconds in the 400-meter dash for a 10^th place finish.
• Spijker finished 12^th in the 1,500-meter run at a time of 4:46.00, a personal best for the freshman. She is now leading the conference in the event and is 2^nd all-time in the Converse records books. Dixon posted a 5:00.95, Beatty finished at 5:04.41 and Robinson ran the event in 5:19.72.
• Anna-Fidelia Rusing, Piper Grant and Jetta Turner all finished inside the top 15 in the 5,000-meter run with Rusing placing 11^th (19:41.47), Grant finishing 13^th (19:55.03) and Turner in 15^th (20:07.22).
• Bella Martin threw for a mark of 41.22 meters in the hammer throw.
• Elijah Hall finished 15^th in the long jump at a mark of 6.56 meters which is a new school record.
• In the 5,000-meter run, Luis Rios Brena finished 15^th with a school record time of 15:56.50 while Jaxon Wright finished 17^th at 16:06.59.

 
Next Up:
The Valkyries will travel to Southern Wesleyan for their next meet of the season on March 31-April 1.
