SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University track and field programs competed at both the UAB Vulcan Invitational and the Gamecock Opener on Saturday, January 14.
 
UAB Vulcan Invitational Notes:

• Phoebe Myers placed sixth in the final of the 60-meter hurdles at a time of 9.33 seconds. She also placed 3^rd overall in the high jump at a mark of 1.55 meters. Myers mark leads the Conference Carolinas in the high jump.
• Quiana Suber ran a time of 25.88 seconds in the 200-meter dash while Ryan Glenn ran a 22.84 in the men's 200-meter dash.
• In the long jump, Elijah Hall had a leap of 5.81 meters while Eseose Okoduwa and Nashayla Warren both finished inside the top-15 in the women's long jump. Okoduwa finished 6^th with a leap of 5.06 meters while Warren finished 14^th with a leap of 4.48 meters.
• Warren also competed in the triple jump along with Janyia Pinckney. Warren finished in 10^th with a jump of 10.02 meters while Pinckney had a jump of 9.97 meters.

Gamecock Opener Invitational Notes:

• Ruth Spijker ran the 3,000-meter run in a time of 11:20.03, finishing inside the top-16.
• Luis Rios Brena finished 15^th overall in the 1-mile run at a time of 4:34.66 while Lauren Beatty (10^th) and Kamille Dixon (15^th) finished with times of 5:17.62 and 5:27.89, respectively. Beatty's time now leads the Conference Carolinas in that event.
• Dixon and Beatty finished back-to-back in the 800-meter run, finishing 7^th and 8^th at times of 2:27.35 and 2:27.79, respectively.

 
Next Up:
The track and field programs will be back competing on Jan. 20-21 at the Finn Pincus Invitational hosted by Roanoke College.
