GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Converse University men's tennis team played in a trio of matches this weekend at the Limestone Invitational.
The Valkyries top doubles team of
Merlin Bellet and
Enzo Marcheschi beat Limestone and Belmont Abbey but lost to Lander. The Valkyrie's No. 2 tandem of
Paul Berrouet and
Gregoire Legrand beat Belmont Abbey, but lost to both Limestone and Lander.
The No. 3 doubles duo of
Cameron Davies and
Leopold Morel beat both Lander and Belmont Abbey but lost to Limestone. The Valkyries final pairing of
Parker Davis and
Joseph Kanipe beat Belmont Abbey but lost to both Lander and Limestone.
In singles action Bellet played at the top flight for the Valkyries and lost to both Lander and Belmont Abbey. Legrand played at the No. 2 singles court and beat Belmont Abbey but lost to both Lander and Limestone. Morel started at the No. 3 singles position lost all three matches to Belmont Abbey, Lander and Limestone.
Marcheschi made his singles debut for the Valkyries at the No. 4 flight and beat Belmont Abbey in straight sets. Berrouet played at the No. 5 singles position and beat his Belmont Abbey opponent 6-1, 6-1. Davies played at No. 6 and defeated both Belmont Abbey and Limestone in straight sets this weekend. Davis played at No. 7 and beat Belmont Abbey before falling to Lander and Limestone. Kanipe played the No. 8 flight and beat Belmont Abbey in straight sets.
