SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse softball team will welcome Southern Wesleyan to Tyger River Stadium on Saturday afternoon for two Conference Carolinas games.

The Series
These games will be the 11^th and 12^th ones played between the Valkyries and the Warriors. Southern Wesleyan holds a 9-1 record over Converse with their most recent pair of wins coming last season by scores of 6-0 and 4-0. The Valkyries last won in the 2017 season 4-3.
 
Converse Notes:

• The Valkyries are 1-37 overall and 0-14 in Conference Carolinas play after most recently dropping two games to conference opponent Belmont Abbey. The Crusaders defeated the Valkyries 12-1 and 16-3.
• In the losses, Grace McKinney led the team with six at-bats, two runs, two hits, and two RBI's. Faith Hauser followed with five at-bats, two hits, and two RBI's. In the circle, Emily Ingle led with four innings pitched with five strikeouts and three at-bats, one hit, and one RBI. Maggie Griffis pitched 3.2 innings and had three at-bats, one run, and one hit.
• Overall, Hauser leads Converse with a .250 batting average, 68 at-bats, seven runs, 17 hits, five doubles, and eight RBI's. Brooklyn McElrath follows with a .245 batting average, 110 at-bats, 12 runs, 27 hits, five doubles, and nine RBI's.
• Griffis leads the team in RBI's with 12 and is also tied with Ryan Finazzo, Serrah Ballard, and Ingle for most home runs this season with one each.
• In the circle, Ballard leads with 80.1 innings pitched with 24 strikeouts. Belle Roper follows with 33 innings pitched and 10 strikeouts.

Southern Wesleyan Notes:

• The Warriors are 2-21 overall and 1-9 in Conference Carolinas play after dropping two games to Mount Olive by scores of 12-3 and 13-2.
• Delaney Byers leads Southern Wesleyan with a .318 batting average, 66 at-bats, 14 runs, 21 hits, five doubles, two home runs, and nine RBI's. Addi Johnson follows her with a .300 batting average, 70 at-bats, 12 runs, 21 hits, three doubles, one home run, and 11 RBI's.
• Faith Bowen leads the Warriors in the circle with 72.1 innings pitched with 41 strikeouts. Emma Collins follows with 55.1 innings pitched with 39 strikeouts.
