SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University softball team will hit the road one last time this season, traveling to Francis Marion University on Wednesday for a pair of Conference Carolinas games set to begin at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

The Series
These will be the seventh and eighth games between the Valkyries and the Patriots. Francis Marion holds a 6-0 record over Converse with their last wins coming from 8-5 and 10-2 wins last season.
Converse Notes:
- The Valkyries are 1-43 overall and 0-20 in Conference Carolinas play this season after most recently dropping two games to North Greenville by scores of 14-4 and 9-0. In the losses, Ryan Finazzo led overall with five at-bats, one run, two hits and two RBI's. Belle Roper led in the circle, pitching a total of 4.2 innings with one strikeout across the two games.
- Overall, Faith Hauser leads the team with a .263 batting average from 80 at-bats, eight runs, 21 hits, four doubles and eight RBI's. Brooklyn McElrath follows with a .234 batting average, 128 at-bats, 15 runs, 30 hits, five doubles and nine RBI's.
- Maggie Griffis leads in RBI's (16) and is tied with Emily Ingle for most home runs (2).
- Serrah Ballard leads Converse in the circle with 93 innings pitched with 29 strikeouts. Belle Roper follows with 41.2 innings pitched with 12 strikeouts.
Francis Marion Notes:
- The Patriots are 25-16 overall and 11-7 in Conference Carolinas play after splitting a doubleheaders series against UNC Pembroke (L, 10-2 and W, 6-5) last Thursday afternoon.
- Danielle Karacson leads Francis Marion in the batting column with a .386 batting average from 132 at-bats, 35 runs, 51 hits, 16 doubles, one triple, six home runs and 29 RBI's. Ashtyn Patterson follows with a .354 batting average, 127 at-bats, 41 runs, 45 hits, 10 doubles, four home runs and 27 RBI's.
- Savana Rosson leads the Patriots in RBI's (33) and home runs (12).
- Rachel Davis is the team's leading pitcher with 117.1 innings pitched and 98 strikeouts. Casey Kurent follows with 87.1 innings pitched and 80 strikeouts thrown.
