The Series:
This will be the seventh meeting between the two teams dating back to the 2015 season. North Greenville is 5-1 all-time against the Valkyries and they have won five straight meetings against Converse. Last season, North Greenville defeated Converse 24-1 in Tigerville, S.C.
Converse Notes:
- The Valkyries are 1-13 overall this season and 0-7 in Conference Carolinas play. Converse is coming off a 19-6 loss to Lees-McRae on Saturday afternoon.
- Both Cassidy O'Neill and Brenna Everette had multi-goal performances for the Valkyries, while Reagan Collins made eight saves against the Bobcats.
- Converse is averaging 8.7 goals per game and 23.0 shots per game this season. The Valkyries have recorded 162 total ground balls, 104 caused turnovers, 158 draw control wins and have a 62 percent clear rate on the season.
- O'Neill leads the Valkyries offense with 34 goals scored this season, Stevens is second on the team with 25 goals, Brenna Everette is third with 22 goals and Rhiaana Warner is fourth with 17 goals. Stevens leads the team with 18 assists and leads the team with 43 points, while O'Neill is close behind with 38 points this season.
- Ciriaca Petitto leads the team in ground balls (40) and caused turnovers (17). Madalynn Brunner has started all but three games for the Valkyries in goal this season and has made 101 saves. Freshman goalkeeper Reagan Collins made her third career start against Lees-McRae on Saturday.
North Greenville Notes:
- North Greenville is 6-9 overall and 4-3 in Conference Carolinas action this season. The Crusaders are 0-7 away from their home field this season, but they are coming off a 15-6 win over Chowan on Saturday afternoon.
- Dani O'Meara led the Crusaders with a 4-goal performance against the Hawks. Emma Mayew, Kylie Keen and Ainsley Woodham all posted multi-goal outings against Chowan.
- The Crusaders are averaging 11.8 goals per game and 23.0 shots per game this season. North Greenville has picked up 214 ground balls this season, forced 85 turnovers, won 224 draw controls and has a 73 percent clear rate.
- Six athletes have scored at least 10 goals for the Crusaders this season, O'Meara (47), Keen (22), Mayew (27), Kaitlin O'Brien (18), Kayla Harris (14) and Woodham (15).
- O'Meara also leads the team in points (55), total shots (86) and shots on goal (70). Danielle LaPlume leads the team in ground balls (43), caused turnovers (20) and draw controls (87). McKenna Kees has started 10 games in goal for the Crusaders this season and has made 58 saves on 192 shots faced.
