The Series:
This will be the 14
th all-time meeting between Converse and Lees-McRae dating back to the 2009 lacrosse season. The Valkyries hold a 7-6 record in the series against the Bobcats, but Lees-McRae got the better of the Valkyries with a 12-9 win a season ago.
Converse Notes:
- The Valkyries are 1-11 overall this season and 0-5 in Conference Carolinas play. Converse is coming off a 25-4 win over the University of Dallas on Thursday evening.
- Libby Stevens led the offense with a six goal, 4 assist game against the Crusaders. Rhianna Warner finished second on the team with five goals, while Brenna Everette, Cassidy O'Neill and Kailee Reel all collected hat tricks. Everette led the team with five assists in the contest.
- Converse is averaging 9.6 goals per game and 24.7 shots per game this season. The Valkyries have recorded 144 total ground balls, 91 caused turnovers, 149 draw control wins and have a 61 percent clear rate on the season.
- O'Neill leads the Valkyries offense with 32 goals scored this season, Stevens is second on the team with 24 goals, Brenna Everette is third with 20 goals and Rhiaana Warner is fourth with 16 goals. - Ciriaca Petitto leads the team in ground balls (38) and caused turnovers (17). Madalynn Brunner has started all but two game for the Valkyries in goal this season and has made 101 saves. Freshman goalkeeper Reagan Collins made her second career start against the University of Dallas on Thursday.
Lees-McRae Notes:
- Lees-McRae is 1-12 overall and 1-6 in Conference Carolinas action this season. The Bobcats are just 1-5 at home this season and they are coming off a 13-12 overtime loss to Barton on Saturday afternoon.
- The Bobcats are averaging 6.8 goals per game this season and they are averaging 19.38 shots per game. Lees-McRae has recorded 221 ground balls this season, caused 115 turnovers, won 159 draw controls and has a 64 percent clear percentage.
- Kalbie Grassett leads the team with 33 goals on the season, Haley Donovan is second with 14 goals, Genesis Lutsky and Nim Castro are third on the team with 13 goals this season.
