SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse softball team will travel to Bristol, Tenn. on Wednesday afternoon for Conference Carolinas doubleheader games at King University.

The Series
These will be the 11
th and 12
th games played between the Valkyries and the Tornado. King holds a 10-0 record over Converse with their last victories coming last season by scores of 9-0 and 3-2.
Converse Notes:
- The Valkyries are 1-39 overall and 0-16 in Conference Carolinas play after most recently dropping a doubleheader series to Southern Wesleyan by scores of 8-5 and 8-4.
- In game one of the loss, Emily Ingle hit a home run along with having eight at-bats on the day, one run, three hits, and pitched 1.2 innings with two strikeouts. In game two, Maggie Griffis hit her own home run along with seven overall at-bats, two runs, four hits, and four RBI's. Serrah Ballard led in the circle with 8.1 innings pitched with four at-bats.
- Overall, Faith Hauser leads Converse with a .276 batting average, 76 at-bats, eight runs, 21 hits, four doubles, and eight RBI's. Brooklyn McElrath follows her with a .246 batting average, 118 at-bats, 14 runs, 29 hits, five doubles, and nine RBI's.
- Griffis and Ingle are tied in the home run category with two each while Griffis leads with 16 RBI's.
- In the circle, Ballard leads with 88.2 innings pitched with 28 strikeouts. She is followed by Belle Roper who has pitched 37 innings with 11 strikeouts.
King Notes:
- The Tornado is 26-14 overall and 10-6 in Conference Carolinas play after picking up two losses to Belmont Abbey on Saturday afternoon. King was defeated by scores of 6-5 and 2-1 in the conference matchups.
- Rikkelle Miller leads the team with a .408 batting average and 130 at-bats, 29 runs, 53 hits, 13 doubles, three triples, 11 home runs, and 34 RBI's. Carly Turner follows her with a .366 batting average, 134 at-bats, 35 runs, 49 hits, 14 doubles, 10 home runs, and 33 RBI's.
- Nikole Counts leads in the circle, pitching 105.2 innings. Marleigh Duncan follows with 84 innings pitched and leads the pitchers in strikeouts with 89.
