SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University softball team will welcome the Columbia College Koalas to Tyger River Stadium on Thursday afternoon for a doubleheader series at 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The Series:
This will be the fifth and sixth time that Converse and Columbia have played each other. The Koalas have a 3-1 record over the Valkyries with their last win coming in the 2017 season when they swept a doubleheader series by scores of 4-3 and 6-5. Converse's last win over Columbia was during the 2016 season by a score of 3-2.
Converse Notes:
- The Valkyries are 0-20 this season after most recently dropping two games to Tusculum University. The Pioneers won by scores of 4-1 and 11-3. In the losses, Emily Ingle led with three at-bats and two RBI's. Faith Hauser and Grace McKinney followed with five at-bats, two hits and one RBI and three at-bats and one RBI respectively.
- Ryan Finazzo leads Converse with 50 at-bats, five runs, 12 hits, five doubles and six RBI's on the season. She is followed by Brooklyn McElrath who has 59 at-bats, four runs, 12 hits, two doubles and four RBI's.
- Serrah Ballard leads in the circle with 51 innings pitched and 15 strikeouts. Belle Roper follows with 13.2 innings pitched and six strikeouts.
Columbia Notes:
- The Koalas are 7-5 this season and 3-3 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play. Columbia is coming into these games after most recently splitting games with Union. The Koalas won game one 6-4 and lost game two 8-1.
- Alyssa Diaz leads Columbia with 43 at-bats, eight runs, 17 hits, two doubles, one home run and seven RBI's. Kylie Smith leads the team with 13 RBI's and 34 at-bats, three runs, 15 hits and three doubles.
- Elizabeth Stroud leads the Koalas in the circle, pitching 28.1 innings with 24 strikeouts. Gabby Lawrence follows with 25 innings pitched and five strikeouts.
