SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse Valkyries softball team will travel to Franklin Springs, Ga. and Due West, S.C. for Conference Carolinas matchups at Emmanuel College and Erskine College on Friday and Saturday afternoon.

The Series
This will be the 11^th and 12^th games between the Valkyries and the Lions. Emmanuel holds a 9-1 record over Converse with their last two victories coming from the 2021 season when they swept the doubleheader series by scores of 5-1 and 6-4. The Valkyries last defeated the Lions in the 2017 season 3-0.

These will also be the 11^th and 12^th games between Converse and Erskine. The Flying Fleet hold a 10-0 record over the Valkyries with their last wins coming last season by scores of 13-3 and 6-2.
 
Converse Notes:

• The Valkyries are 1-31 and 0-8 in Conference Carolinas play after most recently dropping two conference games to the Lees-McRae Bobcats on Tuesday afternoon by scores of 14-2 and 3-0.
• In the losses, Brooklyn McElrath led the team with six at-bats, one run, and one hit. Maggie Griffis followed with five at-bats, two hits, one RBI, 3.1 innings pitched, and one strikeout thrown. Ryan Finazzo had the other run for the Valkyries in game one along with a total of four at-bats on the day and one hit. In game two, Emily Ingle pitched all seven innings, throwing five strikeouts in the process with three plate appearances.
• Overall, Faith Hauser leads the team with a .255 batting average, 55 at-bats, seven runs, 14 hits, three doubles, and five RBI's. Finazzo follows her with a .241 batting average, 79 at-bats, 10 runs, 19 hits, seven doubles, one home run, and eight RBI's.
• McElrath leads the team in at-bats with 95, Griffis leads in RBI's with 11, and Finazzo, Griffis, Ingle, and Serrah Ballard are all tied with one home run each.
• Ballard leads the Valkyries in the circle with 76 innings pitched with 24 strikeouts thrown. Belle Roper follows with 30 innings pitched and nine strikeouts.

Emmanuel Notes:

• The Lions are 24-15 overall and 5-5 in Conference Carolinas play after most recently splitting a conference series against North Greenville. The Crusaders took game one 7-4, and Emmanuel won game two 12-4.
• Chloe Nadler leads the team with a .403 batting average, 119 at-bats, 29 runs, 48 hits, 13 doubles, five home runs, and 40 RBI's. She is followed by Kyna Cheney who has a .371 batting average, 70 at-bats, 19 runs, 26 hits, five doubles, two triples, two home runs, and 11 RBI's.
• In the circle, Maddie Edwards leads Emmanuel with 96.2 innings pitched with 85 strikeouts thrown. She is followed by Dani Fairey who has pitched 74.2 innings and thrown 47 strikeouts.

Erskine Notes:

• The Flying Fleet is 6-19 overall and 2-6 in Conference Carolinas play after most recently dropping two games to conference opponent Belmont Abbey on Tuesday afternoon by scores of 3-1 and 10-2.
• Kelci Brown leads Erskine with a .347 batting average, 75 at-bats, 25 runs, 26 hits, one double, and two RBI's. Kyndall Chandler follows with a .309 batting average, 55 at-bats, five runs, 17 hits, three doubles, two home runs, and 12 RBI's.
• Faith Belue and Kaley Ingle are tied for most home runs on the team with four each, and Aly Salois leads in RBI's with 17.
• Ingle leads the Flying Fleet in the circle with 78.2 innings pitched and 99 strikeouts thrown. Brown follows with 23.1 innings pitched and 14 strikeouts.
