SPARTANBURG, S.C.  – The Converse softball team will travel to North Carolina for conference games against Chowan on Saturday afternoon and Barton on Sunday.

The Series:
This will be the third and fourth times that the Valkyries and Hawks have played each other. The series is split 1-1 with Chowan winning game one of the 2021 series 8-0 and Converse winning game two 7-4.

This will be the 11^th and 12^th times that Converse and Barton have gone up against each other. The Bulldogs hold a 10-0 record against the Valkyries with their last wins coming from the 2021 doubleheader series by scores of 12-3 and 9-1.
 
Converse Notes:

• The Valkyries are 1-25 overall and 0-2 in Conference Carolinas play after most recently dropping a doubleheaders series on Sunday afternoon to the Mount Olive Trojans by scores of 14-2 and 11-2.
• In the losses, Serrah Ballard led the team with six at-bats, one hit, one run, and one RBI, 3.1 innings pitched, and one strikeout. Belle Roper led in the circle with 5.2 innings pitched and one strikeout.
• Overall, Faith Hauser leads Converse with a .295 batting average, 44 at-bats, seven runs, 13 hits, two doubles, and five RBI's. Brooklyn McElrath leads the team in at-bats with 78 and McElrath and Ballard are tied with the most RBI's at nine each.
• Ballard leads the Valkyries in the circle, pitching a total of 66 innings with 22 strikeouts. Roper follows with 19.2 innings pitched and seven strikeouts thrown.

Chowan Notes:

• The Hawks are 5-18 overall and 0-4 in Conference Carolinas play after dropping two games to Erskine by a score of 4-3 each game.
• Kaitlin Brunelli leads Chowan with a .367 batting average, 60 at-bats, nine runs, 22 hits, nine doubles, five homeruns, and 18 RBI's. She is followed by Paige Wilhelm whose batting average is a .309 with 68 at-bats, 12 runs, 21 hits, two doubles, two triples, and three RBI's.
• Megan Vincent leads the Hawks in the circle with 45.2 innings pitched and 46 strikeouts. Bailey Wilcox follows with 33.2 innings pitched with 38 strikeouts.

Barton Notes:

• The Bulldogs are 16-2 overall and 3-0 in Conference Carolinas play after most recently picking up two wins against the Emmanuel Lions by scores of 2-1 and 10-9.
• Overall, Kandyce Condrey leads the team with a .434 batting average, 53 at-bats, 16 runs, 23 hits, five doubles, one triple, and 12 RBI's. She is followed by Mikayla Rose who has a .426 batting average, 47 at-bats, 18 runs, 20 hits, eight doubles, one triple, three homeruns, and 21 RBI's.
• In the circle, Rilee Cooper leads the Bulldogs with 50.1 innings pitched with 63 strikeouts. Miranda Holmes follows with 42.2 innings pitched and 45 strikeouts.
