SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse University softball team will hit the road again, this time traveling to North Carolina for a doubleheader series at Brevard College on Sunday afternoon.

The Series:
This will be the ninth and tenth time that Converse and Brevard have played each other. The Tornados hold a 6-2 record over the Valkyries with their last victory coming in the 2020 season by a score of 8-1. The Valkyries won the second game of that 2020 series 9-1.
Converse Notes:
- The Valkyries are 0-22 this season after most recently dropping two games to Columbia College on Thursday afternoon. In the 16-6 and 12-3 losses, Ryan Finazzo hit the first homerun of the 2022 season in game one. She led the team with six at-bats, two runs, two hits and one RBI. Brooklyn McElrath followed with seven at-bats, three hits, one run and one RBI. Serrah Ballard was given the loss in game one after pitching 6.1 innings with four strikeouts. Through both games, Ballard had five at-bats, two runs, one hit, two RBI's, pitched 7.2 innings and had five strikeouts.
- Faith Hauser leads Converse with a .278 batting average, 36 at-bats, five runs, 10 hits, two doubles, and five RBI's. Finazzo follows with a .250 batting average, 56 at-bats, 14 hits, five doubles, one homerun and seven RBI's.
- In the circle, Ballard leads with 58.2 total innings pitched with 20 strikeouts. Belle Roper follows with 14 innings pitched and six strikeouts.
Brevard Notes:
- The Tornados are 3-4 this season after most recently dropping a game to Greensboro on March 8. In the 8-0 loss, Taylor Hannah led the team with two at-bats and one hit.
- Overall, Mikayla Morgan leads Brevard with 20 at-bats, one run, seven hits, two doubles, one triple and six RBI's. Hannah follows her with 20 at-bats, five runs, 10 hits, one triple and two RBI's.
- Abby Delp leads in the circle, pitching 14 total innings with eight strikeouts. She is followed by Kaitlynn Farmer who has pitched 13 innings with 11 strikeouts.
