SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Converse Athletics has announced the hiring of
Jackie Huff as the new softball coach.
"I am thrilled to bring someone with Jackie's passion and knowledge to Converse to lead our softball program," Converse University Athletic Director
Jenn Bell said. "She will be a tremendous asset to our department and institution as a whole. I look forward to seeing the positive impact she will make on our student-athletes, as they work together to move our program forward."
"I would like to thank President Boone J. Hopkins and Director of Athletics
Jenn Bell for the opportunity to lead and serve the Valkyrie Softball program here at Converse," Huff said. "I am honored to work under the great leadership of Jenn and alongside a department of coaches all driven towards the same goal. I am excited to implement the Valkyrie Way into my coaching philosophy and build this program towards pursuing excellence. I believe that collegiate sports are a great platform to guide and serve our student athletes to prepare for life after college. I am eager for this upcoming season to begin and work with Team 7."
Over the past two seasons at Ohio Christian University, Huff guided her alma mater through the uncertainty of the COVID-19 Pandemic. This past spring, Huff had a player named to the First Team All-Conference list.
Prior to her time at Ohio Christian University, Huff was a graduate assistant at Columbia International University. While in Columbia, Huff helped build the foundation of the Rams softball program.
