Box Score Sumter, SC- The Valkyrie Tennis team captured their first win in conference tournament play this morning defeating Barton 4-3. This elusive victory came in thrilling fashion in what was the opening match for both teams in the Conference Carolinas Championships. With the Valkyries facing a 3-2 deficit, Marleen Prinz and Anna Klasson delivered back to back 3 set wins to win the match. This win sets the Valkyries up for their next match this afternoon with 4 seeded Belmont Abbey. A win versus the Crusaders would etch their place in the conference semi-finals.
