Spartanburg, SC- Hot bats for the Bulldogs led to a doubleheader sweep of the Valkyries today at Tyger River Park.

Game 1 Recap: 
The Valkyries kept it close in Game 1 as the game went into the 3rd inning before the Bulldogs amassed 4 runs in the 3rd and then another 3 in the 4th inning. The Valkyries got 3 hits from Ellie Stout and another 2 from Moriah Gomez. Although the score, a bit lopsided (12-3), the Valkyries showed grit to continue to battle at the plate and in the field. 


Game 2 Recap: 
Barton plated 5 runs in the first two innings and continued to cruise for the remainder of the game to a 9-1 win in game 2. Allison Plafcan scratched 2 hits in the game to lead the Valkyries. The Valkyries have a quick turnaround as they welcome Chowan to Tyger River Park tomorrow for a doubleheader. The first pitch of game 1 will be at 1:00 PM.
