SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse College tennis team picked up a decisive 7-2 win over visiting Mars Hill University on Tuesday afternoon. The Valkyries were able to sweep doubles competition and finished 4-2 in singles action.
Steffi Kong and Kaitlin Knight picked up an 8-4 victory in No. 1 doubles, while the combos of Taylor Parrott and Alex Schlesener as well as Morgan Hildebrandt and Carlie Peeler cruised to 8-1 wins in No. 2 and 3 doubles, respectively.
Mars Hill took the No. 1 and 2 singles, but Knight, Schlesener, Hildebrandt, and Abby Roth all took care of their singles competition in straight sets.
