YOUNG HARRIS, GA.- The Converse Lacrosse team dropped a non-conference contest on the road to Young Harris, 21-6, on Saturday afternoon.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE

Laura Starkes recorded her second straight hat-trick contest with three goals.  Starkes tallied an assist.

Aubrie Lauderdale notched two goals with Ashlei Alston netting the final goal.  Alston also posted an assist.

Kaitlin Milde and Jessi Walters collected five ground balls.  Walters also stopped 10 saves in cage.

HOW IT HAPPENED

1st Half

Young Harris jumped out on top less than a minute into the contest followed by two more goals to lead 3-0.

Aubrie Lauderdale looked to get the scoring rolling for the Valkyries at the 23:54 mark off the assist from Laura Starkes to cut into the deficit 3-1.

The Mountain Lions tallied three more goals to push out to a 6-1 advantage just 10 minutes into the half.

Laura Starkes notched her first goal of the contest to stop the YHC run.  YHC continued to push ahead scoring four straight to lead 10-2.

Converse would score with 7:45 left in the half by Laura Starkes off the pass from Ashlei Alston for the final Valkyries goal of the half.

Young Harris moved the game into a running clock scenario scoring three more goals before halftime to lead 13-3.

2nd Half

The Valkyries were unable to get the offense moving to slow the clock as YHC added a goal coming out of the half.

Aubrie Lauderdale and Ashlei Alston tallied free position goals to cut it to a 10 goal differential.

Laura Starkes netted her hat-trick goal with 7:58 remaining in the contest on a free position goal.

Young Harris would end the contest on a four goal run to take the victory 21-6.
