FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA.- The Converse tennis team dropped a crucial Conference Carolinas match to Emmanuel on the road on Sunday afternoon, 6-3. Converse drops to 6-13 on the season and 2-8 in league play.
After the Valkyries led 2-1 after doubles action, Emmanuel took five of the six singles to take the match.
Alex Schlesener and Samantha Sheffield picked up a doubles win at the number two slot, 8-5. Klaire Rouse and Taylor Littlejohn-Barr won at the third slot with an 8-6 win.
Rouse was the lone winner for the Valkyries in singles action winning 6-3, 6-2 in the sixth hole.
The Valkyries wrap up Conference Carolinas regular season action against Southern Wesleyan on Tuesday, April 19 in Central, S.C.
Converse still holds on to the eighth spot in the Conference Carolinas tournament hunt. The Valkyries sit half a match up on Lees-McRae. Converse holds the tiebreaker with LMC after defeating the Bobcats 6-3 on April 10th.
